@翻了个译，MTI专业辅导@翻了个译，MTI专业辅导INBARsessionatEcoForumGlobal2015,Guiyang,Guizhou–27June2015BambooinSouth-SouthCooperation.ClosingSpeechLadiesandGentlemenWehadaveryinspiringdiscussionaboutSouth-Southcooperationlinkedtobamboo.Iamspeakingbothonbehalfofthe41MemberstatesofINBARasJamaicacurrentlyholdstheChairoftheNetwork,butalsoastheAmbassadorofasmallislandintheCaribbeanthathasbamboo,andthatislookingatwaysandmeanstodevelopourbambooresourcesinthemostproductive,economicandsustainableway.Weheardsomeveryinterestingaspectsofusingbambooinsituationsofcrisisandafternaturaldisastershavestruck.Bambooisalreadyoftenusedtobuildtemporarystructuresandinfrastructuresasafirstresponsetothemayhemcausedbyearthquakes,typhoonsorfloods.But,wecandomorewithbamboo,andlookatmorepermanentconstructionandrelief.IampleasedtonotethattheRedCross–ICRC–andINBARaretalkingaboutcollaborationandarejointlyputtingtogetherplansforup-scalingactivitiesinareasofenvironmentalinsecurity.Asweheardduringthediscussions,bamboocanbeasourceofnutrition,bothforhumansandforanimals.Theuseofbamboofodderforchicken,rabbits,donkeyandotherlivestockisoneareawhichcanbeexploredmorefully,especiallyasfodderpredominantlyusestheleavesandnewshoots,withoutaffectingthemainstem.Anotheraspectthatwetalkedaboutistheuseofbambooasasourceofenergy,especiallyforlocalpeople,andforvulnerablegroupsthataredisplacedorotherwiseinperil.InJamaica,wearedevelopingabamboocharcoalindustry,andthisisoneformofrenewableenergythatisreadilyavailable.Wecanreplicatethisinotherplaces,wherebambooisgrowingnaturallyorcouldbeplanted.Thisbringsmetotheresourcebase.WeunderstandfromINBARthataglobalresourcesassessmentwilltakeplaceinthecomingyears,andthroughSouth-Southcollaborationwewillhelptogettherelevantinformationaboutourstatusquoforourcountriesandourregions.Butoneofthekeyquestionsis:“wherecanweplantmorebamboo?”Plantingbamboocanhelpovercomeavarietyofenvironmentalchallenges,includingerosioncontrol,landdegradation,climatechangeandmore.Theseareallcriticalaspect...
