ResearchonthecognitiveloadofoperatorsinthedigitalmaincontrolroomofnuclearpowerplantbasedongazeentropyDAILicao,ZHANGMeihui,LIYu,MALi,HANXiangyu,CHENQiao,LIPengcheng(HumanFactorInstitute,UniversityofSouthChina,Hengyang421001,Hunan,China)Abstract:Thepurposeofthisstudyistoexploretherelationshipbetweenthegazeentropyofoperatorsandtheircognitiveloadinthedigitalcontrolroomofanuclearpowerplant.Theresearchaimsatbuildinganobjectivemethodtoevaluatetheoperator'scognitiveloadbasedonexperiments.TheexperimentsarecarriedoutonaDCSsimulator.Theexperimentscenariocoversnormalandaccident(SLOCA)situationsofoperationonareactorsimulator.Thesubjectsworeaneye-glasstrackertorecordtheeyemovementdatawhiletheymonitorandcontrolontheprimarycircuit.Aftereachsimulation,thesubjectsfillintheNASATLXscaletorecordthecognitiveloadaccordingtotheirsubjectivefeelingsduringtheexperiment.DataintheeyetrackeriscollectedandanalyzedusingPythonprogramming.SPSSdataanalysissoftwareisusedtoanalyzethevarianceofcognitiveloadandgazeentropytodeterminewhetherasignificantdifferenceexistsbetweencognitiveloadandgazeentropyofoperatorsunderdifferentscenarios.Finally,thecorrelationbetweengazeentropyandtheoperator'scognitiveloadwasanalyzedtoprovewhetherthereisasignificantcorrelationbetweenthem.TheresultsshowthattheFofthecognitiveloadis61.017(p<0.05),theFofSGEis2.86(p<0.1),andtheFofGTEis11.117(p<0.05),whichprovesthatthecognitiveloadandgazeentropyofoperatorschangesynchronously.Comparedwithnormalworkingconditions,thecognitiveloadandgazeentropyofoperatorsunderaccidentworkingconditionsarehigher.Undernormalworkingconditions,thecorrelationcoefficientsbetweenSGEandGTEandcognitiveloadare0.476(p<0.05)and0.552(p<0.05),respectively.Underaccidentconditions,thecorrelationcoefficientsbetweenSGEandGTEandcognitiveloadare0.746(p<0.05)and0.738(p<0.05),respectively.Theexperimentresultsshowthatthegazeentropyispositivelycorrelatedwiththeoperator'scognitiveload,thegreatertheoperator'scognitiveload,thegreaterthegazeentropy.Gazeentropycanbeusedasaneffe...
