Designation:F228104(Reapproved 2017)Standard Specification forStainless Steel and Nickel Alloy Bolts,Hex Cap Screws, andStuds, for Heat Resistance and High TemperatureApplications1This standard is issued under the fixed designation F2281;the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or,in the case of revision, the year of last revision.A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.Asuperscript epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope1.1 This specification covers the chemical and mechanicalrequirements for stainless steel and nickel alloy bolts, hex capscrews, and studs,14in.diameter and larger, intended for useat temperatures up to 1800F(982C),and in applicationswhere resistance to heat and the effects of high temperature areto be considered.See Appendix X1 for Service Application.Awide variety of materials are covered in this specificationwhich can be used at high temperatures as a function of thespecific alloy properties,as well as environmental require-ments including corrosive environments.1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provided for information onlyand are not considered standard.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns,if any, associated with its use.It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety, health, and environmental practices and deter-mine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.1.4 This international standard was developed in accor-dance with internationally recognized principles on standard-ization established in the Decision on Principles for theDevelopment of International Standards,Guides and Recom-mendations issued by the World Trade Organization TechnicalBarriers to Trade(TBT)Committee.2.Referenced
