year of last reapproval.Asuperscript epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope*1.1 This specification covers mechanical cold expansioninsert fittings with compression sleeve suitable for use withcross-linked polyethylene PEX plastic tubing in38,12,58,34,and 1in.and larger nominal diameters that meet the require-ments of Specifications F876 and F877.These fittings areintended for use in 100 psi(689.5 kPa)cold and hot waterdistributions systems operating at temperatures up to andincluding 180 F(82C).Included are the requirements formaterials,workmanship,dimensions,and markings to be usedon the fittings and compression sleeves1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard.The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provided for information onlyand are not considered standard.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns,if
