fixed designation D8012;the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or,in the case of revision,the year of last revision.A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.Asuperscript epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope1.1 This practice covers reclamation of asphalt shinglesderived from manufacturing scrap and tear-off roofing.Re-claimed asphalt shingles(RAS)are used in roadway and otherapplications including asphalt paving materials and unboundmaterials such as granular fill.1.2 Guidance is provided relating to material quality,mate-rial quality control,and also operator and facility qualifica-tions.1.3 UnitsThe values stated in SI units are to be regardedas the standard.No other units of measurement are included inthis standard.NOTE1Sieve size is identified by its standard designation in Speci-fication E11.The alternative designation given in parentheses is forinformation only and does not represent a different standard sieve size.1.4 This practice offers a set of instructions for performingone or more specific operations.This document cannot replaceeducation or experience and should be used in conjunction withprofessional judgment.Not all aspects of this practice may beapplicable in all circumstances.This ASTM standard is notintended to
