英语演讲稿：IfThereWereNoAfterLifewhetherthere’safterlife,theanswerhasneverbeenthesame.theatheistsdenyafterlife,believingthatourlifeisnomorethanfromthecradletothegrave.theymaycareabouttheirillustriousnamesafterdeath;theymayfeelattachedtotheaffectionoftheiroffspring,buttheyneverlaytheirhopesontheirafterlife.theymayalsosaythatgoodwillberewardedwithgood,andevilwithevil,buttheydon’treallybelieveanyretributionintheirafterlife.however,inthereligiousworldoramongthesuperstitiouspeople,thebeliefinafterlifeisverypopular.theydonotonlybelieveinafterlife,butthousandsofreincarnationsaswell.inthemysteriousworld,therearetheparadiseandthehell,thecelestialbeingsandthegods,thebuddhaandthebodhisattvas.maybetheyreallybelievedit,ormaybetheyjustwantedtomakeuseofpeople’sveneration,theancientemperorsalwaysdeclaredthattheyweretherealdragons,thesonsofgod,whiletheroyalministersclaimedtobethereincarnationsofvariousconstellations.butcanthestarsreincarnatemanypeopleburnincenseandkowtow,dogooddeedsandstriveforvirtues,notjustforthepresent,butmainlytoletgodseetheirsinceritysoastoberebornintoabetterafterlife,ortoachievethehighestenlightenmentafterseverallivesofpractice.theydobelieveinafterlife.butican’thelpasking:supposetherewerenoafterlife,wouldyoustilldogooddeedsandstriveforvirtuesandifgoddoesnotseewhatyouaredoing,wouldyoustillbesouprightandselflessifyouwork,notforservingthepublicandliberatingtheothers,butjustforabetterafterlifeofyourown,isn’titalittletooselfishcomparingwiththiskindofbelievers,thosewhodon’tbelieveinafterlife,butstillkeepdoinggooddeeds,arethemostsincereandhonestphilanthropists,becausetheydothemnotforthemselvesbutforother.youmaywonderifibelieveinafterlife.myansweris:iknownothingaboutmypreviouslife,soidarenotmakeimpropercommentsonafterlife.butidohopethere’safterlife!becauseourpresentlifeissoshortthatsomanythingsslipawaybeforeourproperunderstanding.ihavesomanydreams,somanywishes,somanyambitions,aswellassomanyregretsandconcerns.iftherewerenoafterlife,allofthemwillremainunrealized!i’mnotcontentedwiththepresentcommonplacelife,i’mverymuchattachedtotheaffectionsthatshouldhavebeenminebuthavebeenwashedawaybythehurryingtime,andiyearnfortheperfectionandmaturityificouldstartalloveragain.sobelieveitornot,i’drathertherewereafterlife.
