ago,a princess lived in Mexico. She was clever, resourceful, and beautiful. She wanted to marry a man who was clever, resourceful, and charming. The king loved his daughter very much.He wanted the princess to marry a man who was a strong leader because the man would rule the king s kingdom someday. The king had a plan to find a worthy man for his daughter. He created a riddle. Then the king announced that the man who solved the riddle would be permitted to marry the princess. The king thought that his riddle was a good test.To solve the riddle, the man needed to be confident and capable. The man must also be able to form a plan and complete it.A Ridd e and a rum CHAPTER ONE 2Program:CR 14Component:LRG5 U2W4 EPDFVendor:Learning MediaLevel:50001_009_CR14_LR_G5_U2W4L40_E_118733.indd guidance from other people, but they were not interested in riddles. So the prince made his own plan.He told his brother about the plan.“I don t know what skills or talents I will need in my pursuit to solve the riddle,so I will begin my journey alone.I will look for people with special skills and talents.I will ask them to come with me to solve the riddle.I hope to succeed and win the hand of the to the castle, the prince met two more men with special talents. The prince invited them, too. One man was the Blower, who could make a windstorm by blowing. The other man was the Eater. He was very small, but he could eat an entire cartload of food. The prince thought that these men s talents might be useful. Finally the Prince, the Runner, the Thrower, the Hearer, the Blower, and the Eater arrived at
