81/226/INFForIECuseonly2003-07-25INTERNATIONALELECTROTECHNICALCOMMISSIONTECHNICALCOMMITTEENo.81:LIGHTNINGPROTECTIONTC81/WG9–Convenor’sreport(tobediscussedunderdraftagendaitem8attheforthcomingTC81meetingtobeheldinPalmadeMallorca29thand30thSeptember2003)AsdecidedatthelastmeetingofTC81heldinFlorence,taskoftheWG9istoprepareaCDrelevanttoprojectIEC62305-2:Riskmanagementforstructuresandservices.AmeetinghasbeendoneinRomeonDecember2002inwhichthecommentsreceivedon81/173/NPhavebeenpunctuallyconsideredanddiscussed,takingalsointoaccountthenewtaskrelevanttotheservicesandtheresultsofdiscussionsduringtheBeijingmeeting.ValuablecontributionshavebeenreceivedfromMr.LandersandMr.Kern(Germany),Mr.Flisowski(Poland),Mr.Rousseau(France),Mr.Darveniza(Australia),Mr.Kransteiner(Austria),Mr.SurteesandMr.Guthrie(USA),andfromtheconvenorofWG10,Mr.Zeddam,inordertoagreethepartofdocumentrelevanttothemanagementofriskforprotectionofservicesenteringthestructure.Duringthismeetingthewayofcalculationthefundamentalparametersforriskassessmenthavebeenextensivelydiscussed.Ataskforce(Mr.Kern,Mr.Flisowski,Mr.Surtees,Mr.Gillespie,Mr.Rousseau)wassetupwiththeaimtoprepareasimplifiedsoftwareforriskassessment.Anewadvanceddraft(81/213/CD)hasbeenpreparedbytheconvenorandcirculatedbytheendofMarchamongtheNationalCommittees.Deadlineforcommentswasthe20thJune2003andCCwasimmediatelycirculatedamongtheWG9members.AnewmeetingofWG9washeldinRomaon17thand18thJuly2003.Inthismeeting:•commentsto81/213/CDwerediscussed;•afirstreleaseofsoftwarepreparedbythetaskforcewasexsamined.AcompletedocumentforCDVstagecouldbepreparedaccordingtotheestablishedTC81workprogramme.__________________
